Ireland’s Sleepy Hollows Offers Tranquil Camping Experience

Sleepy Hollows is an excellent name for a campground and the family-operated site lives up to its name. The ground is located in the lovely Gaeltacht district of West Donegal in Ireland. It’s a small campground that’s surrounded by natural woodland.

Specifically, it’s located in the quiet and charming village of Meenaleck, and sits close to the Crolly River. Sleepy Hollows is open all year long and offers tent, caravan, and motorhome camping.

The area is ideal for hiking, hill climbing, golfing, fishing, and beach swimming. The ground is a good base for local sites such as Glenveigh National Park, Errigal Mountain, and Tory Islands as they’re all close by. The national park offers some breathtaking scenery and features Donegal Castle and Victorian gardens.

Errigal Mountain is popular with climbers as it offers some excellent views and is the highest peak in the county. In addition, you can also visit Slieve League, which are the highest cliffs in all of Western Europe.

The campground offers electric hook-ups, showers, bath, and a toilet block, laundry facilities, chemical disposal, internet access, camp fires, and an on-site shop. There is a restaurant and pub nearby and beaches, watersports, tennis, fishing, golf, swimming, and horseback riding are all available within a few miles.
