There is so much to see with many different sea creatures and amazing coral reefs. The beauty of camping is that you can park up right by the seashore and have your own little slice of paradise.

Often people that enjoy camping appreciate the fact that the family pet can go with them but many campgrounds in the Florida Keys are not as keen as others.

Restrictions can be quite strict and it is worth bearing this in mind before you set off with your large black Labrador and pet spider on tow. All animals must be vaccinated for rabies under Florida state law.

The Fiesta Key campground is more geared to the trailer and RV visitors although they also do have sites for tent camping. This is part of the KOA chain whose motto is ‘It’s not Camping its Kamping’ which can be found all over America and Canada.

The advantages of these types of places is that you know exactly what you are getting which means it can be a lot less hit and miss than others. Facilities include a swimming pool, arcade room, liquor store and Bar-Grill.

The other advantages of the KOA camps is that they often arrange extra activities in the Summer months aimed at different age groups of children and grown ups too. They are pet friendly too so you can avoid the rigid rules laid down but similar type of set ups.

Sport’s fishing is very popular in these parts in fact Islamorada is thought of as the county’s capital in this area. The KOA experience can also be enjoyed by non-campers as there is motel accommodation also available. For those seeking peace and tranquility then be warned all these sites are very lively.

The Kamp stores sell everything from groceries to souvenirs and the one in Florida Keys has a marina which is fully serviced with both slip rentals and boat ramps.
