I have another one to add to the list..

Patrick’s Point State Park, near Trinidad, CA (30 min north of Eureka). One of the most beautiful sites in the world. Huge coastal redwoods, gigantic beautiful sea cliffs, amazing whale watching, bird watching, fields with elk & deer, very easily accessed…

Also, beautiful photos, I have not heard of many of these and I’m very interested. Thanks :]

I’m pretty sure the photo used for Guadalupe River State Park is actually a picture of Guadalupe Mountains National Park. They are about 600 miles apart. Guadalupe River State Park is pretty but it does not look like that.

I remember camping in Yosemite but can’t remember if it was at Wawona Campground. The name Wawona does ring a bell so it must have been where we were. I remember it was pretty close to Half Dome. We sort of camped… we slept in wooden cabins located at the foot of the main trail leading to waterfalls and the sequoia groves. The Grizzly sequoia was one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen.

  • Picture for Ventura is not accurate. The pic of the coast and the bridge is Bixby Bridge at Big Sur, in Monterey Co, not Ventura Co.
