If you’re into hiking, there are numerous tours available from most countries or you can map out your own adventure. The island is a paradise for fishermen with Arctic Char being the most common fish in the rivers and Halibut and Catfish in the sea and fjords.

Kayaking was born in Greenland as local hunters originally developed the craft and taking one out in the waters is a wonderful experience here as there are so many areas to explore. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to witness some icebergs along with some whales and seals.

Mountain climbing can be done just about anywhere in Greenland. However, Nanortalik, which is in the southernmost part of the country, attracts climbers from all over the world.
