The Things You Need For A Fun Camping Trip

Camping is a great way to get together and bond as a family. You can sit around a campfire and tell scary stories, hike in the woods and even hit the lake for a calm, morning fishing trip. All of these are the go-to ideas for many people when they think of camping.

However, it doesn’t all have to be roasting marshmallows around a campfire. In fact, there are plenty of fun things you can do while on a family camping trip that doesn’t involve a fishing pole or a campfire at all.

Get a Waterproof Camera

People think of fishing or even rafting, but how about getting in the water? Not only should you hop in the water during your next trip. Take a waterproof camera with you for a really fun time. Try to take pictures under the water and see how they turn out.

Lake water isn’t always the clearest, but you’ll have a great time even if the pictures don’t turn out great. You can find simple, disposable waterproof cameras at stores like Wal-Mart.

Bring a Lacrosse Set

You’ve got all the time in the world and you’re outdoors. It’s the perfect time to find an open field and play sports together as a family. When it comes to camping sports, lacrosse is a great option. It was originally played by Native Americans in open fields, so you’ve got the perfect setting. Make sure to pack up your  lacrosse balls and equipment when you’re preparing for your next camping trip.

Play Paintball or Air-soft

If your crew loves shooting games like paintball or air-soft, consider bringing your equipment out on your next camping trip. If you do this, make sure you set boundaries before hand and work together in groups. Don’t play when it’s getting dark either. You don’t want anyone getting lost in the woods.

Project a Movie

If you have a generator of some sort to charge electronics, you should consider buying a portable projector and play a movie while you’re out in the woods. You’ll need a computer to hook up the projector and a white sheet to hang from the trees. This is a really fun way to spend the evening when you’re camping.

Set Up a Volleyball Net

Volleyball is another great sport to play while you’re camping. Many sporting goods store sell portable volleyball nets that you can set up in no time when you’re out in the woods camping.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to bond with your family. You don’t have to stick with the convention ideas that come with camping. Get out there, get creative and have a fun time.
