Camping In Your Own Backyard Can Be Great Fun

camping backyardOften the first step to a lifetime of camping trips starts in your own backyard. It is also the easiest and safest way to find out just how much you enjoy life in the great outdoors.

Most children love camping out under the stars but don’t let them have all the fun. It can be a great experience for the whole family, young and old.

Pitch that tent up at the start of summer and enjoy the sunshine and outdoor experience.

There is a buzz of excitement just in setting out the camp.

Even before the tents go up, rolling out the barbeque, building a camp fire, finding everyone a flashlight, and making sure there are plenty of marshmallows to toast so that everyone can get involved are going to start.

There are numerous games that can be played to heighten the fun but make sure they can’t end up scaring anyone, especially if there are very young children around. Keep scary stories for later in the night when they are asleep.

The younger ones will love gathering up daisies and buttercups to make chains. During very hot weather a garden hose can create a great water slide or just keep everybody nice and cool.

Children love a bit of competition so try a bit of hide and seek. Often older children will enjoy organizing the younger ones into teams. They can have fun with their flashlights or play some sports.

End the night with songs around the campfire and everyone will sleep contented and happy, ready for a brand new day in the backyard camp site.
