Spain’s Castillo Al Eman Offers Ideal Family Camping

Many European campgrounds, such as Castillo Al Eman, offer fun camping facilities that are ideal for family holidays. Castillo Al Eman is located in Benquerencia, Cáceres, Spain and is open all year round for tent, caravan, and motorhome camping. The site sits in the middle of a picturesque holm oak grove.

There are 30 sites and each comes with a shaded terrace and electrical connection. The “Castillo” is a building that resembles a castle and it contains a reception area, and restaurant that has a huge panoramic terrace. There’s also a spa, a small chapel, shower rooms, and bathrooms.

The campground features an enclosure known as Dog’s World where dogs can play and swim in their own pool. For the campers, there’ a swimming pool, an area to play badminton in and a spot for boule. Castillo Al Eman is an ideal base camp to explore the local countryside. The ancient medieval and Roman towns of Caceres, Trujillo, and Merida are all pretty close by and can be reached by car in about half an hour. You can also walk if you have the energy and along the way you should see various species of impressive and rare birds. These include black storks, storks, great bustards, blue magpies, and goose vultures.

The campground also provides gas refills, a laundry area, chemical disposal facilities, and a games room. Within 10 miles of the ground you’ll be able to find shop, bars, tennis courts, a golf course, horseback riding and public transportation.

Another great way to explore the scenic countryside is to rent a bike from the campground. This is a pleasant and fun way to see what the region has to offer and get some exercise in at the same time.
