The days when the disabled people had to stay at home because it was way too inconvenient for them to travel are over.

They don’t have to think about their options regarding hotel rooms and restaurants, because they have the possibility to take their home with them.

In case of the disabled, it might be really comfortable to travel with an RV (recreational vehicle).

Naturally there are some modifications that need to be made. One of the most popular modifications is to replace the stairs with a ramp.

All that the person in question will have to do is to push a button to get the ramp down.

Another modification that he or she might have to consider is to widen the entrance and the aisle of the RV so that the wheelchair would fit. Disabled people can drive just as any other kind of person.

A custom made RV for disabled persons will have the foot-powered dashboard driving mechanism changed to a hand-controlled one.

Also there are numerous objects in the RV that need to be hand controlled and the majority of them might be used with the help of buttons and remote controls.

Since there are numerous appliances put on top of the others, such as the entertainment systems, the remote controls will turn out to be really useful.

The disabled people might experience some problems with the bathroom, but these might be modified as well to be suitable for the needs of the person in question.

Since each person might have different problems, the modification of the RVs becomes something personal, and this is why it might cost a lot to get it done.

In case you are looking for such an RV, you have the possibility to get a pre-owned one which for sure would be cheaper than a new one. Of course you can always rent, but keep in mind to verify the features of the RV before signing the contract.

The summer sun’s gone in many parts of the world and while some people still enjoy camping in the winter, not too many of them consider taking an RV (recreational vehicle) trip. Yes, it can be pretty hard trying to drive in some regions due to terrible weather, but there are still some places that receive relatively mild winters.

A winter RV trip can be just as much fun as a summer one, especially if you’re into winter sports and activities. In addition, if you’d like to visit some popular tourist sites and attractions, you can usually visit them in the colder months without the large crowds.

If you make sure the RV you drive is geared for winter weather, such as having snow tires installed, then you can enjoy a trip no problem. However, you also have to drive carefully and according to the weather and road conditions.

You don’t need a gigantic RV in the winter. Just make sure it’s big enough to be comfortable. You’ll find that smaller vehicles are easier to heat and will keep you warmer during your excursion. A smaller vehicle will also be easier to drive on winter roads. It’s a good idea to practice driving it before you pack up the gear and load your family or friends in it.

Some RVs are designed more for winter use as they’re made with better insulating materials to keep you warm. You’ll also have to search for campgrounds that still offer electrical hook-ups during the winter months as some of them only offer them during the warmer weather. You could also consider taking along a generator to keep you warm during the trip if needed.

Even though you may be travelling in a warm, safe RV, you still need to make sure that you take along the proper type of winter clothing. RVs can break down and you have to be prepared for the worst. It’s a good idea to take your gloves, hat, boots, snowshoes, sweaters, and coat. Basically take along the clothes you would during an outdoor hike or tenting trip in the winter.

Food is also very important, so stock up a lot of it in the RV and make sure you have enough to last in case you get stranded anywhere along the way. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. A winter RV trip can be a lot of fun if you’re well prepared.

What do you do if you are absolutely in love with travel or camping, cannot compromise of your way of living and need your own things for comfortable living? Your own living space, your own amenities and a motor vehicle which has it all, that’s what you call a Camper Trailer.

Whether it is to be used for short leisure activities, vacations or camping or whether you are just interested in having a mobile home for yourself, these camper trailers will kick your senses to new heights!

1. The Rolling Stone

Sustainability and Functionality form the core of this modern and creative camper trailer. It accommodates a minimum two and maximum six people.

Each unit has a small closet, bedroom with a double bed, shower & sink and a toilet. A living room space and a kitchenette and living area can be created in summers and otherwise the open area can also function as a workshop area or theatre.

Energy can be had from two systems: either the wind turbine or the solar panels. Every unit also has a bathtub combination area and a water reservoir on the roof and a grey water treatment facility under the floor of the caravan.

2. The Foldoub Caravan Concept

This camping trailer is all about maximizing available space. It is a very simple concept yet very functional in use and can be towed away to be used whenever needed. It has a bright and bubbly unique design which adds to its appeal.

It offers us plenty of maneuverability options while doubling the available floor space. Three cheers to such innovations!

3. Mehrzeller Caravan

This camper trailer design is a direct reflection of a multi-cellular creation.

Several polygonal structures form this design which is far from being a conventional one. Every unit is custom made by the customers itself, through an online medium, which makes every single unit a unique one.

And inside, every cell performs a different function. No doubt all this makes it such a cool design!

4. The Case Van

This mobile trailer design is the mix of a conventional and a mobile home. It’s a modular mobile home which is extremely functional and yet chic in its looks.

One of the walls inside will have a touch screen display with internet connectivity to be able to connect to the outside world. The lighting as well as other utilities on the inside are neatly built to fit the walls.

5. Colim Caravan

This camping trailer has its name ‘Colim’ in short for ‘colors of life in motion’, which is a multifunctional vehicle, and can be a small car when you don’t need the RV and a whole RV when you actually need one.

It is geometrically shaped and has a flexible living space with individually applicable multi-functional modules. Equipped with auto technology and modern amenities this RV is a very unique and an intelligent design combination.

6. Bob Villa’s Caravan

This camper trailer is far from the square boxes crowding caravan parks. It looks cool, features whitewall tires and wheel covers, aluminum band and dark windows and a smooth airstream form.

Its modern and sophisticated interior boasts of a bedroom covered by an electronically operated pop up roof above the living area. The bedroom can be accessed through a changeable ladder at the end of the kitchen.

7. Opera Mobile Holiday Home

It is more a mobile designer suite than a pop up camper giving you luxuries and amenities you cannot expect from a mobile home.

It has features like electrically adjustable beds, teak veranda, water heater, low energy LED floor lighting and a hot air heater.

This is certainly not an affordable option but a must have for those who want a well-appointed mobile home.

8. 252° Living Area

This camp trailer is a concept spaceship house and boasts of being compact yet spacious.

There is a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and an office in the 252° Living Area which fans out like Japanese fan. Looks like loads of fun!

9. Bob The Caravan

If you love leading a nomadic like then this is one of the best camper trailers. This motorhome trailer is designed for a small family giving them quality living space, literally a home away from home.

It fulfills all basic needs of the traveler and is effectively designed for maximum functionality.

10. Westfalia Verdier Solar Powered Camper

This camper trailer can accommodate a family of four, and give the travelers a realistic moving home for all their weird dreams and needs.

It generates electricity to sustain on-board accessories even if the vehicle is not moving. A GPS over the vehicle and an inbuilt installed PC are its other plus points.

11. The T@B Xl

This is not an RV but a uniquely and brilliantly furnished tear drop shaped tow-away camp trailer, measuring 22 feet with AKS safety coupling and AL-KO trailer control system for easy maneuvering abilities.

It is no doubt expensive what with the teak finishing, 23-inch flat screen TV fitted with a CD-DVD player and leather upholstery but a thing certainly worth having.

12. C3 Hotel Cube

This is one of the cool concept camper trailers with the makings of a futuristic model RV.

A dual action stove or refrigerator to pull out awning, an electronically controlled glass and other features as such, this camper van seems like the perfect choice for a weekend get away.

13. The Cam Concept Camping Car

This is a heavy duty off road camping vehicle and an ideal choice of a motorhome trailer. It has dual mode wheels with 5 spokes for additional grip to the vehicle.

The windows can be kept transparent or be made tinted with the touch of a button depending on what you want to do, whether it is enjoying the outside scenery from inside or having some privacy for happy moments. This new camper van design is surely to attract a lot of travel lovers.

14. Earthroamer Xv-Jp

This might not be a very roomy option for a camping trailer but it certainly is a sturdier one.

Unlike normal RV’s which require a ribbon smooth road to move on, this one guarantees going on without flipping on its roof because of its Jeep Wranger Rubicon Unlimited platform.

It has an 80-watt solar panel on the roof to charge the batteries when the vehicle is parked and a 160-amp engine alternator to keep things powered while its on the move.

15. Sylvan Sport’s Go

It boasts of being the most useful piece of outdoor equipment created and looks like a very versatile mobile trailer.

This camper van conveniently turns into a tent complete with sleeping platforms, entry awning, and various other living configurations for a comfortable on–the-move journey.

16. Compact Caravan Concept

Constant wanderers and campers will prefer this uniquely designed camper trailer because it not only is a fun factor but also gives the traveler a sense of comfort. It is designed to accommodate three people and is very compact in design.

It not only flaunts a roofed slide out elevated outdoor zone along with pull down seats but also a Mosquito net and other features to give greater flexibility and more freedom to interact with fellow neighbors.

Spring cleaning can’t be complete without cleaning your RV. A thorough cleaning of both the interiors and exteriors is essential to keep it in good shape for your adventures for the rest of the year.

Start with the interiors and then move out to the exteriors. The first thing would be to vacuum the floors, upholstery and draperies.

Next shampoo the carpet. Move on to the windows, cabinet exteriors, sinks, shower and toilet. Follow them with a thorough cleaning of the refrigerator, microwave and stove. Remove stains from the upholstery and remember to condition the vinyl and leather. Dust or vacuum the interior fixtures and surfaces.

Now it is time to get down to the counter tops and tables followed by organizing the drawers and cabinets. Keep track of any damages that may have occurred and get them repaired.

With the insides completely cleaned, step out and start on the exterior of the RV. Wash the roof surface and remember to treat it with a protective layer. Wash the exteriors thoroughly and apply protective paint, polish or wax. Clean awnings, side out toppers and repeat with the protective coats of paint or wax.

The slide out seals need to be treated with seal treatment and the rails need lubricant. Clean the windshield and finish with water bead treatment. The tires need to be cleaned next and finish with…yes…a protective layer. Last but not the least, polish all the chrome wheels and other exterior accessories for that shiny squeaky look.

RV is a great way to enjoy your vacation. Most of you think about renting an RV in the summer, but RV camping in the winter can be an exciting adventure.

Do your homework if you are planning for winter RV camping

If you want to go for winter RV camping, you need to search for campsites and places that are open for winter RV camping. Most of the camp grounds are taking advantage of the RV camping in the winter and they stay open during the whole year. Don’t go to the areas that have no RV camping facilities in winter.

Winterize the vehicle before you go winter RV camping

You need to ensure that you are ready to face all the winter conditions, which you come across. If you have your own RV, ensure that you have checked it by a mechanic. Ensure that the gas tank is filled and is safe to use. Check them for leakages and ensure that they are ready to go.

See to it that the RV tires are checked for wear and it is better to buy chains if you are driving in snowfalls.

Winter RV camping is great for outdoor sports like hunting, skiing, snow mobiling and ice fishing. Packing camping equipment that is suitable for winter will ensure that your winter RV camping gives great holiday memories.

Many people feel RV winter camping is “complicated” because of the equipment. This isn’t exactly the whole truth. RV lovers should go for winter camping only after special preparations, in order to make this experience simple and enjoyable.

Here are few tips how to do it. At first, remember it is winter and you will be spending particular time in sub-zero temperatures, therefore get extra wide planks.

The planks should be placed beneath the tires and the jacks, in order to keep the rig from sinking. The bottom of your trailer also should be equipped properly. Place skirting around the bottom to prevent freezing and eventual rupturing of your tank. Insulation is an essential part of these preparations.

The simplest, but yet effective insulation is to use 2 x 2 lumber and staple on the best insulation you can get. Try to insulate all openings, in order to keep the vehicle warm.

A dehumidifier is the very next thing you should buy, for you will have to prevent the condensation. The air conditioner heat strips or heat pumps are also very useful options, but don’t forget they are limited. If the weather gets too cold, they will not work.

There is nothing better than a winter RV camping. The winter RV camping is quite fun, especially if you know how to organize it well.

Here are a few things you should consider very carefully before the camping trip. The campground activity is of major importance, so you should research well before taking the trip. Some camping areas are closed in the winter, so better be sure that the area you are choosing is available all year round.

Winter camping is also about safety, so you should think well about the supplies. In case you are going to travel in the coldest days of the year, the supplies should be chosen accordingly. They are a lot different than those for a summer or spring camping, so make a list of the supplies you should take.

The list should include first aid supplies, roadside assistance equipment, a powerful light and other necessary items for a winter RV camping.

The food supplies are also important, because the food should be nutritious. The drinkable water supply is a must for that kind of camping. The extra set of warm attire is an item you should take too, in case there is a winter storm, travel accident or power failure.

Lately, many people looked at the idea of renting for transportation when they go on vacation.

But if you have a big family on a low budget and have in mind a tour around the country during the summer break, you can make this challenge a very easy one.

Many would say that there is no point in renting an RV. They also say it would be smarter to just buy one but all things considered such a large vehicle would for sure need a considerable parking space, not to mention a suitable maintenance program.

It can be the case that the trip you plan to take using an RV is one in a life time so in this case renting is the logical option.

Still when going for this vacation transport choice you should evaluate the pluses and the minuses of your options

Renting an RV gets you all the opportunities like traveling long distances from New York to Colorado and being able to see the beautiful places on the way.

You can access remote destinations or attend events like rock concerts or NASCAR not needing to pay for accommodations but having all the comfort you need at hand.

Make sure what is the renting contract covering and what are the insurance conditions. Also be on the look for renting from a dependable name. It might be a bit more expensive but will save you a lot of hassle.
