As a native Texan I am not too sure what to say about this article. I think I'll start by saying that Lake Murray, and Ardmore for that matter, are actually in Oklahoma...

That aside, Texas has plenty to offer the outdoor enthusiast. Some notable highlights include: Big Bend, Lost Maples, Enchanted Rock, Palo Duro Canyon, Colorado Bend, and Balmorhea.

For a truely successful camping trip to Texas try to come when it is not in the triple digits, and don't be afraid to try some of the more quiet places. Sure, you could always go to one of the numerous lakes, but why go to a place your state probably has plenty of already?

Instead, venture out and find some of the hidden gems you never knew Texas had. To offer up one of the aforementioned places as an example; Enchanted Rock is the largest natural granite formation in the world.
