Kids love to get out and see stuff. We take our kids out on hikes, especially where there are creeks, streams, rivers, lakes (any body of water!) or peaks with great vistas.

Don't bother bringing toys! Although the kids often think that they will want them along, they almost always never end up playing with them at all.
