Being that most of the time it is just the two use and our two dogs, some may say a 4 man tent would be enough. WRONG we will not have anything smaller than a 6 or 8 man depending on the design. We want room to sleep, dress and store our equipment. It does not take that much longer to have the larger tent and when a pop up shower happens we are dry along with our equipment. I agree, tent manufacturers must figure the capacity of a tent by how many people can lie down in one, not by how many can move around and be comfortable, lol.
